چکیده

We prove the existence of tight frames whose elements lie on an arbitrary ellipsoidal surface within a real or complex separable Hilbert space H , and we analyze the set of attainable frame bounds. In the case whereH is real and has finite dimension, we give an algorithmic proof. Our main tool in the infinite dimensional case is a result we have proven which concerns the decomposition of a positive invertible operator into a strongly converging sum of (not necessarily mutually orthogonal) self-adjoint projections. This decomposition result implies the existence of tight frames in the ellipsoidal surface determined by the positive operator. In the real or complex finite dimensional case, this provides an alternate (but not algorithmic) proof that every such surface contains tight frames with every prescribed length at least as large as dimH . A corollary in both finite and infinite dimensions is that every positive invertible operator is the frame operator for a spherical frame.

A recursive construction of a class of finite normalized tight frames

Finite normalized tight frames are interesting because they provide decompositions in applications and some physical interpretations. In this article, we give a recursive method for constructing them.

Affine Frame Decompositions and Shift-Invariant Spaces

In this paper, we show that the property of tight affine frame decomposition of functions in L can be extended in a stable way to functions in Sobolev spaces when the generators of the tight affine frames satisfy certain mild regularity and vanishing moment conditions. Applying the affine frame operators Qj on j-th levels to any function f in a Sobolev space reveals the detailed information Qjf...

Optimally Sparse Fusion Frames: Existence and Construction

Fusion frame theory is an emerging mathematical theory that provides a natural framework for performing hierarchical data processing. In this paper, we introduce the notion of a sparse fusion frame, that is, a fusion frame whose subspaces are generated by orthonormal basis vectors that are sparse in a ‘uniform basis’ over all subspaces, thereby enabling low-complexity fusion frame decomposition...

Frame expansions for Gabor multipliers

Discrete Gabor multipliers are composed of rank one operators. We shall prove, in the case of rank one projection operators, that the generating operators for such multipliers are either Riesz bases (exact frames) or not frames for their closed linear spans. The same dichotomy conclusion is valid for general rank one operators under mild and natural conditions. This is relevant since discrete G...

Duals of Some Constructed $*$-Frames by Equivalent $*$-Frames

Hilbert frames theory have been extended to frames in Hilbert $C^*$-modules. The paper introduces equivalent $*$-frames and presents ordinary duals of a constructed $*$-frame by an adjointable and invertible operator. Also, some necessary and sufficient conditions are studied such that $*$-frames and ordinary duals or operator duals of another $*$-frames are equivalent under these conditions. W...
